FAROE Petroleum has seen its shares rise almost two per cent after completing the £10 million sale of a stake in its Glenlivet field to Total.

Graham Stewart, chief executive, said he was pleased to complete the transaction for the West of Shetland acreage. He said: "Faroe has a very exciting continuing exploration and appraisal programme to look forward to in 2015. Our unique and robust financial position ensures we can participate in another five-well, high-impact campaign in Norway."

The shares rose 1.75p to 92.75p.
