THE finalists for the fourth annual s1 Recruitment Awards have been unveiled, with the candidates for 19 categories drawn from a broad range of companies operating in Scotland.

A judging panel led by s1 sales director Gavin Mochan identified the firms which deliver the best candidate experience and most striking innovation.

The winners will be unveiled at a gala event at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday, April 2.

Confirmation of the finalists, which can be seen on the S1 Recruitment website, comes as it was announced that The Needle has been named as title sponsor for the event.

Christine Tautari, co-founder and director of The Needle, an online recruitment company, said: "The Needle is excited to be co-hosting the s1 Recruitment Awards this year in conjunction with s1Jobs.com.

"We are proud of our association with Scotland's No.1 job board, and look forward to celebrating some of Scotland's elite recruitment talent at the awards ceremony in April. Congratulations to all the finalists, and best of luck on the night."

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Chairman's award, sponsored by Office Angels.

Ian Gallagher, the company's operations manager, said: "We are privileged to be sponsoring the Chairman's Award for Outstanding Achievement at this year's awards. We look forward to meeting and wish best of luck to the finalists who are contributing so significantly to the industry".

The awards also welcomes a new sponsor in the shape of The Cinch Group.

The payroll outsourcing specialist is sponsoring both the small and large recruitment agency of the year categories.

Head of business strategy and development Nikki Clough said: "The Cinch Group are extremely excited to be sponsors at the upcoming s1 Recruitment Awards.

"This comes at a very exciting time for Cinch as we work with a number of Agencies in Scotland.

"Cinch wishes all the finalists the best of luck and we look forward to meeting everyone."

S1 said the line-up for this year's awards highlights the strength of the recruitment sector in Scotland, placing the spotlight on the people and businesses running the most successful campaigns and training initiatives.

Among the companies in the running are production firm Casual Films, which has received five nominations, including three in the best recruitment video category.

Glasgow-based GAP Group is up for three awards.

Mr Mochan said: "The panel and I were in undisputed agreement - the quality of entrants mirrored best in class.

"With three times the number of submissions it will be tough, which is why I would congratulate all finalists and applaud the winners. Good luck."
