Scotwest has become the first credit union in Scotland to receive accreditation as a UK Living Wage employer.

The credit union has also registered with Glasgow City Council to support the Glasgow Living Wage. Kenny MacLeod, chief executive, said Scotwest wanted to inspire other credit unions to make the commitment, "ensuring staff throughout the west of Scotland community are adequately rewarded for their work". The Living Wage at £7.85 compares with the national minimum hourly wage of £6.50.
