SWEDISH fund manager HealthInvest Partners has upped its stake in Scottish retinal imaging firm Optos.

HealthInvest, based in Stockholm, is likely to have spent in excess of £2 million purchasing the one million additional shares.

That takes its holding to 2.68 million shares, equivalent to 3.7 per cent of the Dunfermline company.

Separately, Optos confirmed long-time investor Amadeus Capital has sold its remaining 2.6 million shares, which is likely to have netted it in excess of £5.2m. Optos shares closed up 2.5p, or one per cent, at 207.5p.
