A WEST Lothian refrigeration and air conditioning business has moved into larger premises in Livingston, paving the way for further growth around the UK.

Cooling Solutions (UK), whose operations span sales, services and installation, has invested around £425,000 in the 13,500 sq ft site on Brucefield Industry Park.

The company, which has secured a £250,000 term loan from Bank of Scotland to support the move, said the extra warehouse capacity will allow it build on the contracts it won in England last year and to add 10 jobs to its current 20-strong headcount by the end of the year.

Cooling Solutions (UK), which also has grant funding from Scottish Enterprise, was established by Jason Mortimer and David Gillespie in 2005 and is currently reporting annual growth of 25%. Its customers include Costa Coffee, McColl's, Pret a Manger and KFC.

Mr Gillespie, the company's finance director, said the owners had spoken to a range of banks about funding and opted for Bank of Scotland because it "understands our business and our growth plans".

He added: "Our customers remain cautious, but they still require us to provide them with a first-class service and as such we need to invest in our infrastructure to meet these demands."

Cooling Solutions (UK) is now a member of Refrigeration and Air conditioning Contractors' Alliance, meaning it is a part of a group that provides refrigeration and air conditioning services around the UK.

Abbreviated accounts filed at Companies House show the company made a retained profit of £10,563 for the year ended April 30, 2012.
