GLASGOW hoteliers have seen a near 10 per cent rise in revenue per available room (revpar), according to research.

The Scottish Intercity Report, from LJ Forecaster, said hotels in Scotland's biggest city had benefited from greater room rates in April even though there was small fall in occupancy levels.

It was boosted by the Commonwealth Law Conference and the Congress of the European Accounting Association.

Edinburgh was relatively flat year-on-year while Aberdeen hotels continued to suffer with a fifth consecutive month of lower revpar, with a 20 per cent slide in April.

Aberdeen still has the highest room rates at £92.57, with Edinburgh at £86.16 and Glasgow coming in at £71.40.
