Global increases stake in Ross-shire Engineering

Global Energy Group increased its shares in Muir of Ord-based Ross-shire Engineering to 51% this week in a move welcomed by both parties, writes David Ross.

For 30 years Ross-shire Engineering has provided expertise – across the UK and abroad – for items ranging from specialist, one-off fabrications to oil rig hydraulics, and water treatment plants to major power projects.

Roy MacGregor, chairman of GE Group who is also chairman of Ross County FC, said: "We took a share equity stake in Ross-shire Engineering some two years ago as we were confident their strong brand and turn-key industrial engineering services with a particular emphasis on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation would add depth to our company and also provide Ross-shire with new opportunities for their business and this has proved to be the case."
