TPEGS, the Scottish golf experience company run by former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart and coach Gary Nicol, has set its sights on the London corporate market.

The company, based at Archerfield Links in East Lothian, has hired former European tour player Raymond Russell to lead the move.

Mr Russell will be based at the prestigious Centurion Club at St Albans, where he will host corporate outings and coaching days for the firm's growing client base in England.

His appointment comes as TPEGS (Tour Pro Experience Golf Schools) enters a partnership with Mint Greens, a golf service for private and corporate clients providing access to leading courses in London and around the world.

Coltart, who is also a television golf analyst, said: "In the context of Scottish golf, the experience we provide and facilities we have at Archerfield are second to none and we attract golfers from all over the UK and overseas.

"However, we see a real opportunity in bringing the TPEGS experience closer to the London corporate market and Raymond's appointment is a key part of that strategy.

"Having a presence at the Centurion as well as our home our Archerfield Links in the heart of Scotland's golf coast means we have two of the best venues and with Raymond's experience and stature in the game he's the perfect guy to develop our business in the south."

TPEGS was set up in 2001 to provide professional coaching by former leading players to golfers of all abilities. It has expanded its services since then into residential retreats, corporate events, private coaching and "heligolf" trips to some of Scotland's most famous courses.

Mr Russell said: "I'm delighted to be joining TPEGS at an exciting time for the business."
