Jobs at risk as Diageo plans £60m cost-cutting move

DRINKS giant Diageo is seeking to slash £60 million a year from its running costs by overhauling and decentralising its supply operations.

The move, which will cost £100m to implement, will lead to an unspecified number of job cuts including in the UK.

Diageo, owner of Johnnie Walker whisky, said responsibility for supply and procurement will be transferred to the businesses in its 21 key markets and the regional structures above these will be reduced.
