KIER Construction has formally launched an office in Inverness to capitalise on the growing number of contracts it is winning across the Highlands.

The company said the based, at Beechwood Business Park, will employ 10 full-time staff, as well as provide apprenticeships for young people in the area.

Contracts won by Kier in the Highlands include a £14 million community centre and primary school campus at Caol, Fort William, and £3.5m of council house heating upgrades.

The Inverness office was officially opened by Highland MP, and chief secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander.
