LAW firm Thorntons has reported a 13 per cent rise in turnover to £16.27 million.

Accounts being filed at Companies House will also show a rise in profit before remuneration of members from £2.66m to £3.98m in the year to May 31, 2014.

Since the year end Thorntons has completed mergers with Steel Eldridge Stewart and Murray Donald.

Jack Robertson, chairman, said: "In a year of consolidation, we're continuing to trade well and we expect the turnover of our enlarged business to break through the £20m barrier in our next financial year."
