SCOTTISH law firms Lindsays and RSB macdonald have announced they are to merge.
RSB has three offices in Dundee while Lindsays has operations in Edinburgh, Glasgow, North Berwick and Dundee.
On Tayside the merged firm, which will have 38 partners including five from RSB, will be known as RSB Lindsays.
Alasdair Cummings, Managing Partner of Lindsays, expressed his delight with the deal describing it as a "perfect fit".
Derek Duncan, partner at RSB, said: "This is an extremely exciting time for us. We believe the merger will bring further benefits to our clients through access to additional areas of expertise such as employment law, licensing, and corporate and commercial advice for businesses throughout Tayside."
Lindsays is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year while RSB can trace its roots back to the 19th century.
