Leather company lands jet fleet deal

GLASGOW-based Andrew Muirhead and Son, part of Scottish Leather Group, has revealed it has been undertaking a contract worth "well in excess of £1 million" to supply leather to Malaysia Airlines.

It said its leather had been selected for a "new and updated fleet" for the airline, including the A380 Airbus wide-body, double-deck aircraft.

Colin Wade, managing director of Andrew Muirhead, said: "We are very proud to have been selected by Malaysia's national carrier to supply the leather for its recent fleet refurbishment and for the all-new flagship A380. Being involved with such a pioneering aircraft as the Airbus double-deck is a great honour."
