Maxima has an operation in Hillington Park, Glasgow, formed in part from its 2001 purchase of Weir Systems.
The bid comes a year after a £2 million fundraising by Maxima Holdings which was followed by the sale of five businesses deemed non-core, including Glasgow-based SAP B1, aimed at cutting its debt pile.
