ONLY one representative from McGrigors will join the Pinsent Masons board following the merger between the firms.

Richard Masters, who has been managing partner at the Scottish firm since 2008, will become head of client operations.

He is joined by Pinsent Masons senior partner Chris Mullen, managing partner David Ryan, finance director Steve Hancock and head of client strategy Alastair Morrison.

Mr Masters said: "I am pleased to be taking on the role of head of client operations in the combined business."

Mr Mullen added: "The new board structure gives us a highly experienced management team."

A non-executive board made up of two partners from each firm is also being formed with Kirk Murdoch, senior partner at McGrigors, taking one of the slots. The merger creates a practice with £282 million in fee income and 1500 lawyers.
