National Express said its annual pre-tax profits lifted seven per cent to £145.4 million as it grew passenger numbers across its coach, rail and bus divisions.
The Birmingham-based firm added that its coach passenger revenues improved four per cent and that it had won a 15-year extension to its c2c Essex Thameside rail franchise between London and towns including Basildon and Southend.
