OMV in asset sale

AUSTRIAN oil and gas company OMV has sold some North Sea assets to focus its UK efforts on fields to the west of Shetland.

A 5% stake in the Beryl Area fields was sold for $118 million (£75m) to an unidentified buyer while a 17.5% stake in the Tobermory and Bunnehaven discoveries was bought from Statoil in exchange for a 30% stake in Mariner East.
