Orkney hopes for Japanese business boost

ORKNEY Brewery is hoping to find new customers at a major food and drink event in Japan this week.

Foodex is the largest event of its kind in Asia, attracting almost 3000 exhibitors from 82 countries and regions, along with more than 75,000 food and drink buyers.

The show, held in the Makuhari Messe convention centre, Chiba, runs between March 4 and 7.

Norman Sinclair, managing director of Orkney Brewery's parent company, Sinclair Breweries, is attending the show and said: "This is the first time the Orkney Brewery has had a presence at a trade event in Japan and we're really excited about the opportunities it will create."
