Peter Vardy acquires two upmarket dealerships

Motor dealer Peter Vardy has made two upmarket acquisitions in Aberdeen for undisclosed sums.

It has bought Town and County's Land Rover and Porsche dealerships in the East Tullos area from owners Athol and Jackie Strachan as well as Pendragon's Jaguar dealership in the city.

The deals add to Peter Vardy's existing sites across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Motherwell and Kirkcaldy which take in brands such as BMW, Mini and Vauxhall.

Chief executive Peter Vardy, grandson of Reg Vardy and son of Sir Peter Vardy, said: "With the Jaguar, Land Rover and Porsche businesses, it is particularly gratifying personally to be establishing the family name further in prestige dealerships to complement our existing BMW and Mini franchises."
