PIRC urges opposition to Optos

A CORPORATE governance watchdog has urged shareholders in Scottish medical technology firm Optos to oppose the company's remuneration report.

PIRC claims there is a lack of transparency over performance criteria at the retinal imaging business.

Fife-based Optos told PIRC it could not disclose some targets as they were commercially sensitive.

However, there are also concerns as directors have six-month rolling contracts but would be compensated for a further six months if made redundant following a takeover.
