Profits at Plexus hit record £3.1m

ABERDEEN-based oil industry engineering specialist Plexus Holdings has posted a record pre-tax profit of £3.1 million, almost double that of the previous year, as it benefited from "growing momentum" in sales of its wellhead technology at home and from overseas.

Plexus's core product is the POS GRIP, which it claims allows firms to produce more effective seals between the parts in wells and to drill them more cheaply than when using other techniques.

It saw a 27.8% rise in revenue to £19.7m for the year to June 30, of which 47% was from the UK.
