Profits treble at metal company

STEEL frame manufacturer Ayrshire Metal Products has reported a near-trebling of profits.

According to accounts filed at Companies House, pre-tax profits went from £448,000 to £1.3 million in 2011.

Turnover grew from £22.8m to £23.2m in spite of UK sales declining from £14.6m to £12.7m.

That was partially offset by a stronger performance in Europe, where revenue increased by more than £2.3m to £10.5m.
