HAIRDRESSING firm Rainbow Room International has reported a retained profit of more than £216,000.

Abbreviated accounts filed at Companies House also showed the Glasgow firm had net assets in excess of £1.6 million in the 12 months to March 31 this year.

The business was started by Alan Stewart in 1979 and has several salons in Scotland's biggest city plus outlets in Bearsden, Stirling, Ayr, East Kilbride and Uddingston.

Mr Stewart and his wife Linda are the shareholders in the company, according to the most recent annual return.
