Rentokil Initial profit up

Pest control-to-hygiene group Rentokil Initial said its pre-tax profit grew 6% to £19.3 million in the first quarter on the strength of organic growth and acquisitions in emerging markets such as Turkey, East Africa and Latin America.

The group bought 10 pest control businesses during the period, and expects them to add £22.4 million to sales by the end of the full year.
