UPMARKET estate agency and letting business Rettie & Co has bought Edinburgh Festival Rentals.
That will see Rettie enter the short-term rental business in the Scottish capital for the first time.
Edinburgh Festival Rentals, which specialises in accommodation in the city during August, was acquired for an undisclosed sum from Destiny Scotland.
Simon Rettie, managing director, said there was "great potential" in moving into new areas of the rental market.
