ROADSIDE Vehicle Services, a Paisley business launched by Brian McVey and his son David in 1992, has hit the £1 million annual turnover mark ahead of an expansion programme, which is being backed by Bank of Scotland.

The bank has provided Roadside Vehicle Services, which is engaged in activities including MOT-testing, breakdown recovery and fleet hire, with loan-funding of £25,000 towards an overall £100,000 refurbishment of its Paisley premises.

The re-designed facility, in Underwood Road, will enable the company to increase its work-flow and offer a wider range of services. Roadside Vehicle Services employs eight people.

David McVey said: "My father and I have invested all of our time and hard work in the business and it's great to see that commitment paying off. Bank of Scotland has provided us with a really personalised service. The team got to know our business and product so they could give us a bespoke package that would help us grow.

"I think the secret to our success it that we are a father-and-son operation. That comes across in the service we offer our customers. They trust us and know that we'll dedicate our time and knowledge to provide them with the highest standards."

Lynne Robertson, relationship manager at Bank of Scotland, said: "Brian and David are an excellent example of how small enterprises with a focus on providing the best customer service can be a great success, even in difficult economic conditions.

"As soon as I met the father-and-son partnership, I knew they had all the right ingredients to grow their business, and continue to witness increased turnover and profit."
