DEPARTMENT store chain John Lewis has said its sales grew 6.6 per cent to £69.24m in the week to May 17 as the warm weather encouraged shoppers to spend.
The business said homewear sales rose 5.5 per cent while the figure for womenswear lifted to 13.2 per cent. Sales of sunglasses were 107 per cent higher than a year ago.
