Scotgold's test drill results 'encouraging'

SCOTGOLD Resources, a company formed with a single aim of exploring for gold and silver in Scotland, declared yesterday that two deep test holes drilled at its River Vein prospect in Argyll had produced "highly encouraging" results.

POSITIVE SIGNS: Scotgold's Chris Sangster said River Vein had a similar geochemistry to the Cononish find.

It said the drilling results "indicate at least two possible gold and silver-bearing structures".

River Vein is outside the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and about three miles north-west of the Cononish gold and silver deposit near Tyndrum.
