THE Scottish facilities of GlaxoSmithKline are to be included in a restructuring of the drugs giant's European operations, drug manufacturing and research as it seeks to make £1 billion of savings, writes Tim Sharp.
A spokesman said a £100 million investment programme announced last year for its sites in Montrose and Irvine is unaffected by the plans.
But, as part of its manufacturing arm, the plants in Angus and North Ayrshire will be included in the cost-saving review.
