SCOTTISHPOWER Renewables has picked Siemens to be its turbine supplier for the £2 billion East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm.
Up to 102 of the seven megawatt turbines will be provided for the project while the blades are being manufactured at a Siemens facility in Hull.
Construction work is scheduled to start in 2017 with the first turbines installed in 2019 and the wind farm fully operational during 2020.
The wind farm is predicted to be able to provide enough power for around 500,000 homes.
