SCREENMEDIA won top billing at the 2012 Scottish Digital Business Awards organised by The Herald.
Glasgow-based Screenmedia won the Digital Supplier of the Year award, sponsored by Enigma People Solutions, for the third year running. Judges said the agency demonstrated excellence across all fields. Screenmedia also won the Consumer Engagement Award sponsored by s1 for Simple Audio, a multi-room digital music system.
Now in their fourth year, the awards showcase the creativity of agencies in Scotland and the ways in which companies are making effective use of internet and mobile strategies to reach out to customers through smart phones and the like.
David Mains, director of Enigma People Solutions, said: "It's great to see that we have such a thriving digital industry and it's only getting better. The quality of the submissions this year was superb."
The Retail/E-Commerce Award, sponsored by Highlands & Islands Enterprise, went to the Edinburgh-based Kotikan agency for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe App. More than £500,000 of festival tickets were purchased through the application.
Gillies MacKenzie, development manager of ICT Engagement for Highlands & Islands Enterprise, said the economic and community development agency was delighted to be sponsoring the Retail/E-Commerce award.
He said: "Improving Digital Infrastructure in the Highlands and Islands, and supporting business and communities in the region to make the most of digital technology is a priority of Highlands and Islands Enterprise."
The 2012 awards were presented at a dinner attended by an audience that included digital and communications specialists and other business professionals at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.
Chunk Games picked up the Games Award for The Bank Job, commissioned by Channel Four as a tool to recruit contestants for the TV show of the same name.
The game has now been played more than 9.5 million times and is credited as being one of Channel Four's most successful digital projects.
Front Page Design won the Business to Business and Best Client Campaign awards.
The Financial Services Award went to Line Digital.
Equator won the Lifetyle/Leisure award.
The Public Sector Award including Charity/Not-for-Profit was won by Blue Square Design.
FreeAgent clinched the Best Mobile Application award.
