SECC appoints Thurlow director of exhibition sales

THE Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow has hired Dan Thurlow as director of exhibition sales.

Mr Thurlow, formerly portfolio director for i2i Events Group, brings broad experience in the industry to his role at the SECC, notably in large-scale events.

He will help develop content and handle contracts with the organisers of consumer and trade exhibitions.

Chief executive Peter Duthie said Mr Thurlow's experience "will be a valuable asset to the company".

"With the recent opening of the SSE Hydro on site, this appointment comes at a pivotal stage as we are now able to utilise much more of the SECC campus for exhibitions," said Mr Duthie.

"We look forward to welcoming him on board as we focus on the long-term future and success of this key sector of our business."
