Ship broker's big profits rise

SHIP broker Clarksons posted a 46 per cent rise in underlying pre-tax profit to £15.8 million for the six months to June 30 as it boosted trading volumes and entered new markets.

During the period the business entered the dry cargo market in New York, and the sale of specialised products in Holland and Australia.
