SIMPSONS Tea is to be stocked in one of the largest hotels in China.

The Galaxy Macau, which opened in 2011 and has 2,200 rooms and suites, is taking a number of the teas produced by the Edinburgh business.

It produces distinctive flavours such as gingerbread green tea along with provocatively named batches such as Hitchcock Blonde and Blueberry Boudoir.

Founder Anna Louise Simpson has also struck an agreement with Marriott Hotel & Country Clubs to create a seasonal range for its 11 properties around the UK.

The summer blend includes jasmine blossoms and freeze dried slices of strawberry with the autumn tea having a caramel and sea salt flavour.

In winter it will be orange and cinnamon with the spring tea flavoured with peach and rose petals.

Katie Ramsay, from Marriott UK, said: "A good cup of tea is a quintessentially British tradition, but we wanted to go one step further and offer our guests a truly unique take on this staple."

"We are delighted to be working alongside Simpsons Tea, a British company with a fantastic reputation for creating wonderfully different tasting teas."
