MIKE Ashley's Sports Direct International has promoted Matt Pearson to become its acting chief finance officer following shareholder concerns.
The group has been left without a finance boss for 18 months since Bob Mellors stood down on health grounds in late 2013.
Mr Pearson was previously financial controller, having joined Sports Direct as a group financial accountant in 2007 from Ernst & Young.
