Spotlight falls on enterprise technology at conference

THE Herald has joined forces with computer giant Dell to host a free business event at Hampden Park in Glasgow on May 20.

The conference, entitled Technology In Business: Gain the Competitive Advantage, will focus on enterprise technology and explore how Scottish firms can create a lasting legacy from the Commonwealth Games.

It will also look at how businesses can benefit by forging closer links with their local communities.

Speakers will include Paul Zealey, head of engagement and legacy at Glasgow 2014, Andy Corcoran, Solutions Director, Dell, and Linda Murray, Director of Scottish Enterprise's 2014 team. The event, which will be opened by Herald editor Magnus Llewellin, will also feature a motivational speech from record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont.

Sarah O'Donnell, UK marketing manager at Dell, said: "As official IT hardware and data centre supporter for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Dell is delighted to be working with The Herald to bring this hotly anticipated C-level event to Scotland's National Stadium, Hampden Park.

"This event will provide an insight into how your business can achieve the power to do more in what will be a historical year for the city. This unique event will see discussion on enterprise technology and the role that organisations can play in creating a lasting legacy following the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games."
