SCOTTISH Hydro Electric owner SSE has cautioned that its six-month profit numbers can be volatile as it prepares to unveil a large hike in earnings just weeks after pushing up its customers' average bill by 9%.
The Perth-based utility company said its adjusted profit before tax for the six months to September 30 is expected to be "significantly higher" than the same period last year and to be close to that of 2010.
