Tesco ends its Turkish quest

TESCO has ended talks to find a partner to back its Turkish business, called Kipa, which has more than 190 stores in 20 cities and employs around 9,600 staff.

The supermarket, which has pulled out of the US and Japan in recent years, said it remained "committed" to the business and planned to "minimise capital spend and improve profitability."
