Walkers warns of likely flour price rise impact

SPEYSIDE'S Walkers Shortbread has become the latest company to warn the impact of soaring wheat prices is likely to be felt in the coming months following poor harvests in Russia and the US.

Walkers' caution that flour prices are likely to rise follows warnings from supermarket chains Tesco and J. Sainsbury this week that wheat costs will inflate meat prices while the wet summer has hit domestic crops of potatoes, onions, parsnips and carrots.
