WATERMANS Solicitors says it is hoping to build on a record year after recording £3 million of income in 2013.

The personal injury specialist, based in the Leith area of Edinburgh and which employs 25 people, has recently moved from a partnership structure to a limited company one.

That saw Scott Whyte, formerly head of litigation, promoted to managing director while founder Neil Waterman became chairman.

Mr Whyte said he was looking forward to "developing and expanding" on what Mr Waterman had built over the past 13 years.

The firm also secured a six-figure lending package with Clydesdale Bank last year which will help to underpin its growth aspirations.
