PRESENTERS at tomorrow night’s Oscars ceremony will be taking home a prize of their own courtesy of Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky.

The distillery, north of Glasgow, was approached by the organisers of the 89th Academy Awards, after the malt was selected as a ‘gift from Glasgow’ for each of the 14 stars presenting at the awards.

The line-up of presenters includes Hollywood royalty like Scarlett Johansson, who spent time in Glasgow while filming Under the Skin in 2013, Leonardo DiCaprio and Halle Berry. And each will each have a bottle of Glengoyne 10 Year Old delivered to their dressing rooms ahead of the ceremony, which kicks off at 1.30am UK time (5.30pm LA time) tomorrow night.

Neil Boyd, commercial director of malts at Ian Macleod distillers, the company that own Glengoyne Distillery, said: “Having been approached by the team at the Oscars, we couldn’t be more thrilled that our Glengoyne 10 Year Old will be making its red carpet debut.

“Being Glasgow’s local distillery, it’s a privilege that our whisky will play its part in representing, not only the city, but Scotland at the awards.”
