PAISLEY-based Clark Contracts lifted profits by more than one-third to £1.4 million in a year which saw it work on a series of major property developments.

The company saw turnover climb by more than £10m to £56.2m in the year ended October 1, new accounts show. Clark secured £25m of new contracts in the six months to the end of October, including the refurbishment of the Northern Lighthouse Board’s headquarters in Edinburgh’s George Street, and the A listed Kilmardinny Arts Centre in Bearsden, Glasgow. In the period between year end and March 31 this year it secured a further £40m of work.
