The council, which officially launched on April 1, was created as an advisory body to provide the Government and the newly-established UK Space Agency with strategic advice on the future plans and opportunities for growth in the space sector.
Craig Clark, the founder of Scotland’s only homegrown space industry business Clyde Space, has been drafted on to the UK Government’s new Space Leadership Council and he told The Herald he expects the sector to generate at least £5 billion north of the border over the next 20 years and up to 10,000 jobs.
