Cross points to ‘hidden value’ in Dana takeover wrangle

The chief executive of Dana Petroleum said yesterday that Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) had made a hostile bid for the Aberdeen firm because it knows there is “hidden value” in the business.

Tom Cross noted that the state-owned Korean bidder had pounced at a time when Dana was drilling two of the biggest exploration prospects in its history.

“You have got to ask about the timing,” he told The Herald.
