Exclusive: KPMG forced to lower bill for administration

Administrators from KPMG who were called in to Glasgow jewellers Martin Groundland have had a £518,000 bill reduced by £77,000 after a judge ruled that parts of the claim could not be justified.

The big four accountancy firm may have been charging around £100 for phone calls a few minutes long, Lord Glennie concluded. But KPMG has insisted there was “no question of any overcharging”.
