Hospitality sector continues to suffer as recession fallout weighs on city’s hotels

Recession fall-out is continuing to impact the hotel sector in Scotland, with large falls in both occupancy and room yield particularly in Edinburgh, according to sector advisers PKF.

The firm’s monthly survey found that, in April, occupancy levels fell 4.3% in Scotland, whereas they increased by 1.9% in ‘regional UK’, and were up 2.8% in England and 0.6% in Wales.
