Lauded Dyson chief credits success to his Glasgow upbringing
Dyson chief executive Martin McCourt, the winner of last week’s National Business Awards Orange Leader of the Year, has credited tough lessons and a “great attitude to life” learned in the east end of Glasgow as the secret of his business success.
McCourt, who triumphed in last week’s awards over a field that included the leaders of Chrysalis, the National Trust, Greggs and the fast-rising e-commerce giant ASOS, lived in Dennistoun until the age of 17 and makes frequent visits to family in the city.
