Pub chain raises a glass as 7am opening boosts sales

Opening its outlets at 7am to capture the breakfast trade is supporting sales growth at pub chain JD Wetherspoon.

Total sales at the company are 5.8% up year-on-year for the 11 weeks to July 11. Excluding new openings, sales were up 1%.

This means that in the 50 weeks of Wetherspoon’s current financial year, like-for-like sales are up 0.1%.
