Sainsbury will invest £40m in farming

J Sainsbury is planning to boost its rural supply chain by investing about £40 million in farming over the next three years.

The supermarket group will pump the cash into its farming “development groups”, which it set up four years ago to work with farmers covering different product areas such as beef, lamb, milk and grain, a newspaper has reported.
