Stagecoach takes eco-friendly route to fuel efficiency

BUS drivers at Stagecoach will get bonuses of up to £65 if they use less fuel as part of a multi-million-pound scheme that Stagecoach hopes will save it more than seven million litres of diesel annually.

The Perth-based transport group is understood to have spent £5 million on the GreenRoad System which uses a dashboard traffic lights-style display to tell drivers how they are performing on speed, braking, acceleration, lane-handling and turning.
